Closings and Clean-Ups at Kingmeadow

On Friday, May 13, 2016, we celebrated another important milestone at Kingmeadow with our 500th Closing! When our purchasers Herbert and Grysel drove up to their new home, they were greeted by a large group of the Minto team welcoming them to the neighbourhood. The team congratulated our purchasers and celebrated our successes with a champagne toast. Congratulations to Herbert and Grysel on their new home, and to our entire Kingmeadow team on this momentous milestone!

Also on that day, the Minto team got down and dirty at Kingmeadow, as staff from Minto Communities volunteered their time to clean up the Kingmeadow site and get it prepped and ready for spring! Equipped with hard hats, construction boots, gloves and garbage bags, the team set out to clear out any garbage or debris that’s been uncovered on site after the winter thaw and to clean up the pond’s shoreline. It was a beautiful sunny day to be out in the Kingmeadow community, and we’re happy to say that the  neighbourhood is looking fantastic!

Following the clean up everyone enjoyed a BBQ with the Kingmeadow trades to celebrate our 500th Closing and show our appreciation for our trades at Kingmeadow. Thank you to everyone who helped out and congratulations to the team on all their hard work!

Wow! Kingmeadow Celebrates its’ 400th Move-in!

We’ve had a busy Fall in the Kingmeadow neighbourhood, not only with construction but also with moving homeowners into their new homes. We celebrated  yet another milestone a few weeks ago when we had our 400th move-in at Kingmeadow!

When our 400th home owners, Angleo and Lorena, arrived at their new home after picking up their keys, they were enthusiastically greeted with champagne, yummy treats, and an entire welcoming committee of Minto MasterCare, Construction, and Sales!IMG_20151105_152539

Angelo, Lorena as well as their adorable little son, are all very excited to start this exciting new journey! We were lucky to have a chance to catch up with these new proud home owners and have them tell us everything we wanted to know about them, and their experience so far!

Hi Angelo and Lorena! Nice to meet you, can you tell us a bit about yourselves?

I’m a Toronto Paramedic and in my spare time I love to be outdoors! Some of my other hobbies include hunting and riding my mountain bike and road bike.

Lorena has a background in Interior Design and is a Project Manager for commercial construction projects. Her hobbies include opera singing and reading.

When did you move into your Kingmeadow home?

We took possession on October 30, 2015

Why did you choose to live to Oshawa? What drew you to the Kingmeadow community?

We decided to move to this community from Whitby as it felt like it was up-and-coming area with lots of opportunity for growth potential. We were also drawn to the fact that new homes usually draw new families with children, which was really important for us because we wanted to have our son be able to socialize with other kids!

What type of Kingmeadow home do you live in and why did you choose it?

We chose the Windfield R from the ravine collection. Having a view of trees was important to us and the layout of the house was very appealing due to its’ open concept living and dining room. This design layout made it perfect to sprawl out for our larger dinner parties!

What has your experience been with Minto?

We have been so impressed with Minto and staff. Special shout out to Emma from the Sales Office, Sarah from the Decor Centre and last, but definitely not least, Vince on site. Our encounter with each of these staff members was always met with patience, understanding and kindness.

Have you had a chance to explore the area? Do you have any favorite spots in the city that you like to visit?

We love taking our dog Toby for walks around the pond at Britannia & Bridle. With all the surrounding trees we have seen some beautiful wildlife.

Thank you for Sharing Angelo and Lorena!  The Kingmeadow community is lucky to have such talented, creative, and out-going enthusiasts to join the community! Congratulations and welcome to the neighborhood!

300th Move-In at Kingmeadow

We’ve had a busy summer in the Kingmeadow neighbourhood, not only with construction but also with moving homeowners into their new homes. We celebrated a milestone a few weeks ago when we had our 300th move-in at Kingmeadow!

When our 300th home owners, Jessica and Nicholas, arrived at their new home after picking up their keys, they were greeted with champagne, cupcakes, and an entire welcoming committee made up of the Minto MasterCare, Construction, and Sales Teams.

Jessica and Nicholas grew up in Whitby and so they chose to buy a home in Kingmeadow to be close to their families. The area is ideal for them because of the location, with the 407 coming through and the new RioCan shopping mall coming to the community. Jessica is a nurse who works nearby at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby, and Nicholas is a steel stud framer who has worked on Minto projects such as Minto775 and Minto WaterGarden.

The two are high school sweethearts and Kingmeadow is their first home together. They both went to school at UOIT down the street, so they’re familiar with the area. “We’ll probably be at the St. Louis Wings down the street a lot!” Nicholas told us.

Jessica and Nicholas are excited to start their new chapter of their lives together at Kingmeadow, and they’re looking forward to seeing the community develop. Congratulations and welcome to the neighbourhood!
