From entry level hybrids starting at $400  to $6,000 race weapons, Oxygen Bike Co. has everything a family, beginner, enthusiast or racer needs, with top brands like Cannondale, Norco, Bianchi, Rocky Mountain and Linus Bicycles.

Oxygen Bike Co.’s specialty is their upbeat, fun Spin Classes that they offer onsite. Classes offer a superior cardio workout featuring 13 bikes plus a highly qualified and enthusiastic instructor. Meet another one of your Longbranch Neighbours!

Meet Christa, a very excited future-resident of Minto Longbranch! Aside from her enthusiastic admiration for the neighborhood’s mix of nature and city living, she has many reasons why the Longbranch/Mimico community is a perfect match for her lifestyle!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

About 3 years ago, I moved to Canada. I grew up and spent most of my life in Switzerland. So why leave that beautiful place? Well, I needed a change. Been there, done that. And if not now, when would I ever explore another great part of the world. I have not had any regrets since.

I love my job in the pharmaceutical industry and was lucky enough to be able to move within my company to their Mississauga office. What a stroke of luck it was that this gave me the opportunity to move to the GTA which has so much to offer: from city living and amenities, culture, all the way to farms and nature.

Why did you choose to live at Minto Longbranch? What drew you to the Long Branch/Mimico neighbourhood?

The proximity to the lake and public transport drew me in at first. The location cannot be beat. I can hit Hwy. 427 to get to work and on weekends I can easily catch a train to get downtown – and being so close to transit means there is no problem enjoying a drink or two as I’m out. There are some great culinary finds in the area and shopping is so close. It has been a while since I could just walk to the supermarket and ditch the car.

Although, the floor plan layouts and the unique exterior of the Minto Longbranch development gave the final deciding factor. The buildings have a very European touch. I felt well taken care of by the sales staff and so the decision to buy instead of renting somewhere else was an easy one to make.

What type of Longbranch home did you buy and why did you choose it?

I bought the Providence SP at first,  but when I went through the plan in detail at home over the weekend I came to realize that that unit was just not big enough for my purposes. So I went back to the Sales Centre and bought the Urban SP instead (thank goodness it was still available!). I am thrilled with the open plan living room and kitchen area. The rooftop is a great bonus and I can already envision having neighbours and friends over and chilling out.

What are you most looking forward to when you move into your Minto Longbranch home?

What I hope for is to be part of and get involved in the community. Being new to the neighbourhood is something we will all have in common, so I’m excited to meet everyone and see them outdoors in the area, on our way to work. I can’t wait to feel connected to where I live.

Any hobbies or anything else you’d like to tell us about?

In my free time, I love to bake and cook. Over 200 cook books grace my shelves and I find it very inspirational to just browse through my books. My co-workers are spoiled by now as I bring baked goods into work at least once a month if not more. And perhaps sharing with neighbours will allow me to experiment even further. I love to be around produce and anything food related, I volunteer at a local farmer’s market – a tough job as I start is 5am, but so rewarding. Cherry, peach, nectarine, plum and apricot picking are a favourite past time of mine as well, including making jam and pies with these wonderful fruits.

And last but not least, what would life be without travelling? I love going on trips close and far. Road trips are definitely top of my list for a great time, but I also enjoy flying to anywhere in the world that’s new or re-visiting some of the great places I’ve visited in the past. I love to explore new things and places – and getting to know new friends.

We look forward to tasting Christa’s delicious baked goods and are so happy that she is a part of the Minto Longbranch community!

Meet Your Neighbours at Minto Longbranch

Meet Trevor and Barbara Ann! They’re a young couple who purchased at Minto Longbranch and can’t wait to move into their new home. We met up with them get the scoop about everything from Longbranch living to Fashion blogging. Here’s what they have to say about the community.

Minto Longbranch Etobicoke Toronto

1. What brought you and Trevor to the Minto Longbranch neighbourhood?

My husband, Trevor and I are two creatives, always looking for adventure and inspiration. Living so close to the water and the city is actually a dream come true.

2. What are you most looking forward to when you move into your Minto Longbranch home?

After renting for 5 years, we cannot wait for a fresh start with a lot more space! I work as an art director and fashion blogger and Trevor works in finance and moonlights as a photographer. We plan to create beautiful projects and memories in our little Minto Longbranch home!

3. You purchased a Village 3 bedroom corner with a rooftop terrace, what did you like about this suite?

We fell in love with the outdoor space on the rooftop terrace. Trevor and I love to entertain. We are also looking forward to all of the natural light that will come in from being a corner unit. I can’t wait to decorate the entire house!

4. As a fashion blogger, can you tell us about what you do? Trends you see? Favourite stores?

I’ve been a fashion blogger for 3 years now, after a friend pushed me into posting outfit pictures on Instagram. From there things sort of took off, I started my website, Barbara Ann Style Blog, and started working with exciting brands like, Hudson’s Bay, Swell and Zara. My favourite trend for the spring/summer season is the 1970s. Everything from bold prints to flares and platforms are coming back for the season.

We look forward to welcoming Barbara Ann and Trevor, as well as the rest of our residents to the Minto Longbranch neighbourhood!

Kicking-off Construction at Minto Longbranch

Under the guidance of our construction team leaders, Keri Washer, Robert Bain, Anthony Ottolino and Chris Babia, construction has begun at Minto Longbranch in Etobicoke! If you’ve passed by the Longbranch site along Lake Shore Blvd. W. in the last couple of months, you would have seen some big changes happening there.

The East and West cranes have been up as of the end of October and end of November respectively. These will be up for the duration of the construction process, and are a good indication that construction is well underway. The team has been busy pouring concrete for the garage, and the garage footings are now 100% complete at Block 4, 50% complete at Block 3 and about 15% complete at the West garage. Vertical concrete at the garages is 100% complete for Block 4, 85% complete for Block 3, and just underway at the West garage.

Just before the holidays, the underground drainage team began working with installing drainage in Block 4. When this is complete they can pour the garage floor slab and forming for the ground floor suspended slab level.

The construction team has their fingers crossed that the winter treats us well this year, with minimal wind and snow!

Check out some pictures of the construction site below – things are moving along nicely!

Breaking Ground at Minto Longbranch

We’ve broken ground at Minto Longbranch, and what better way to celebrate the occasion than with a party! Last Wednesday, January 21, Longbranch purchasers and their families and friends were invited to the Longbranch Sales Centre to celebrate the beginning of construction on their new homes. It was a lively occasion with everyone excited to meet their neighbours and chat about their future homes.

Delicious snacks were provided by Encore Catering, and Grenville Pinto entertained the party with his lively violin-playing, covering songs from all musical genres. We even had a photo booth where purchasers could take their own groundbreaking photos of themselves to commemorate the exciting construction milestone. We’ve posted a few below, and you can check out all of the photos from the night here.

Pizza and Wine. Need We Say More?

We’ve told you about how much we love Mimico many times before, but Minto Longbranch is also doing its part to bring even more exciting retailers to the neighbourhood. We’re doing this by creating a whole new community within Mimico who will be regulars at the local shops and restaurants, but also by bringing new retailers into the area and bringing some old favourites closer to home. Here are a couple of the retailers our Minto Longbranch residents will have first access to.

Wine Rack

Wine Rack is the closest thing you’ll get to the vineyard experience without leaving your neighbourhood. Their huge selection and extensive knowledge of all of their products will make your wine-shopping experience pleasant and informative. Planning a dinner party at your place? Just head over, let them know what you’re cooking up and you’ll have the perfect wine pairing in no time. If you want to stop into a Wine Rack before they open up at Longbranch, you can find one of their 160 Ontario locations on their website.

Little Caesars

Home to the Hot n’ Ready (for just $5 we might add), Little Caesars is comfort food and convenience all rolled into one. If you live at Minto Longbranch, you’ll be able to forget delivery charges and just head downstairs to pick up a meal for movie night or those days you just don’t feel like cooking.

These won’t be the only retail spaces located at Minto Longbranch! We’ll be telling you about our other occupants next week, stay tuned!
