All in all, it was a pleasant evening filled with good food, great music and even better company! Residents enjoyed the opportunity to get to know their neighbours at Minto Southshore, our townhome developments in the heart of Etobicoke.
With the waterfront, beautiful scenery and great amenities only steps away, Minto Southshore is the perfect place to call home. And if you’re missing downtown Toronto – it’s only a few moments away and easily accessible by public transit and the local highway.
74 per cent of Torontonians prefer living in a walkable neighbourhood. That statistic comes from The Walkable City, a report published by Toronto Public Health last year. The report emphasizes the urgency of creating a more walkable city where people live and work near shops, services and transit stops. Countless studies have shown that shorter commutes, less time behind the wheel and more walking can have an enormous effect on health and happiness. More and more organizations and health professionals are emphasizing the importance of walking for the many economical, health and environmental benefits.
This week, we’re looking at five cities around the world to see what makes them walkable or what they’re doing to increase walkability in their neighbourhoods.
We love the summer and we sure love our BBQs. Last week, we celebrated the beginning of occupancy at Caledonia Towns on the Park with a BBQ and then this past weekend, we hosted a Backyard BBQ at Minto Kingmeadow in Oshawa.
Look past the jump to see all the fun everyone had at our BBQ on June 22!
We have some great news to share with you! Because of Minto’s history of building more sustainable homes, we’ve been selected to be a part of a major project sponsored by Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) & ecoENERGY Innovation Initiative (ecoEII) and led by Owens Corning Canada.
