Here are a few ideas to assist in finalizing your favorite décor pieces for this season!

Preparation – Finding the Tree:

Before you pick a design for your home, there are a few pointers on what to look for!  Reader’s Digest helps the process by outlining some key factors before choosing! For Example, it is suggested that before you go tree shopping, measure the height of the ceiling in the room where you will display your tree because you will want to choose a tree that is at least one foot shorter than the ceiling height. Also, it’s best to measure the opening of your tree stand and make sure the base of your chosen tree will fit. Other suggestions are to run your fingers along the needles and ensure that when you give it a shake, the bristles are not falling out! Get the Look: A Bathroom with a Splash of Colour

cover image
We found this bathroom (the rest of the home is amazing, too!) on homedit.com.

We love the slick, white bathrooms in new-build condos and houses as much as anyone. But for some, crisp and clean is a little too, well, crisp and clean. We put together some items that would work with any bathroom, regardless of the fixtures, to add a splash of colour and personality. Read on to find out where you can get the look.

Colourful bathroom

1. We’ve been counting on Umbra for bold bathroom staples for years. This bright orange trash can is made more narrow than most so it’s perfect for a smaller space.

2. The classic soap dispenser/soap dish/glass set is a great way to accessorize your bathroom. This one from Ikea is nice and fresh for summer, and it won’t break the bank.

3. The Slim Sonic toothbrush is meant for travelling, but we would “accidentally” leave this one out on the bathroom counter. We found this gem of an oral hygiene device on flight001.com.

4. If you haven’t been to Urban Outfitters since you were a teenager, it might be time for another visit. We loved these soap pebbles for their fun colours and organic shapes.

5. Who wouldn’t love a bathtub plug that makes it look like a hiding Crocodile. We found it on playwho.com. Their selection changes frequently, but every time we browse through there is  always something we can’t live without.

6. This Pendleton Geo-printed towel from Urban Outfitters was kind of intended for the beach, but we would leave it on display in the bathroom any time. Pendleton is known for their classic wool blankets, so when we saw this towel we knew it had to be on this list.

7. This storage cart from Ikea would be perfect in the bathroom for stacks of towels, or anything else you need extra space for. And the colour is perfect to jazz up any bathroom.

8. Another great find from playwho.com: This bright magazine rack. If you really love your magazines, get two and they’ll fit together perfectly.
