Farm Boy Has Made Its Way to the GTA in Whitby!

Ottawa based grocery store, Farm Boy has made its way to the GTA in Whitby!

Farm Boy

Farm Boy in Whitby is a 28,000 square foot store located in the Taunton Gardens Power Centre. Their unique approach of calling themselves a “fresh market” vs. a “supermarket” has the Durham region raving with excitement! The grocery chain aims to offer fresh products with ingredients that you can pronounce, and provide their customers with an extraordinary shopping experience. Say goodbye to self-checkouts; at Farm Boy the staff is there to assist you the entire way and make your overall shopping experience as pleasant as possible.

Farm Boy promises to carry fresh, organic, seasonal, Ontario grown and gluten-free options to suit every lifestyle. In addition to carrying high quality seafood and hormone-free meat, they also have a variety of over 300 cheeses and a bulk section for nuts and grains.

There is also a substantial prepared food section with sushi, hand-carved sandwiches, stir-fry and an artisan pizza counter where your personalized pie is cooked in a custom-built brick oven. Yum! Come on in for something tasty and get inspired by all the goodness at Oshawa’s latest fresh market! www.farmboy.ca

Wow! Kingmeadow Celebrates its’ 400th Move-in!

We’ve had a busy Fall in the Kingmeadow neighbourhood, not only with construction but also with moving homeowners into their new homes. We celebrated  yet another milestone a few weeks ago when we had our 400th move-in at Kingmeadow!

When our 400th home owners, Angleo and Lorena, arrived at their new home after picking up their keys, they were enthusiastically greeted with champagne, yummy treats, and an entire welcoming committee of Minto MasterCare, Construction, and Sales!IMG_20151105_152539

Angelo, Lorena as well as their adorable little son, are all very excited to start this exciting new journey! We were lucky to have a chance to catch up with these new proud home owners and have them tell us everything we wanted to know about them, and their experience so far!

Hi Angelo and Lorena! Nice to meet you, can you tell us a bit about yourselves?

I’m a Toronto Paramedic and in my spare time I love to be outdoors! Some of my other hobbies include hunting and riding my mountain bike and road bike.

Lorena has a background in Interior Design and is a Project Manager for commercial construction projects. Her hobbies include opera singing and reading.

When did you move into your Kingmeadow home?

We took possession on October 30, 2015

Why did you choose to live to Oshawa? What drew you to the Kingmeadow community?

We decided to move to this community from Whitby as it felt like it was up-and-coming area with lots of opportunity for growth potential. We were also drawn to the fact that new homes usually draw new families with children, which was really important for us because we wanted to have our son be able to socialize with other kids!

What type of Kingmeadow home do you live in and why did you choose it?

We chose the Windfield R from the ravine collection. Having a view of trees was important to us and the layout of the house was very appealing due to its’ open concept living and dining room. This design layout made it perfect to sprawl out for our larger dinner parties!

What has your experience been with Minto?

We have been so impressed with Minto and staff. Special shout out to Emma from the Sales Office, Sarah from the Decor Centre and last, but definitely not least, Vince on site. Our encounter with each of these staff members was always met with patience, understanding and kindness.

Have you had a chance to explore the area? Do you have any favorite spots in the city that you like to visit?

We love taking our dog Toby for walks around the pond at Britannia & Bridle. With all the surrounding trees we have seen some beautiful wildlife.

Thank you for Sharing Angelo and Lorena!  The Kingmeadow community is lucky to have such talented, creative, and out-going enthusiasts to join the community! Congratulations and welcome to the neighborhood!

Breakfast is Served at Kingmeadow!

What better way to celebrate the beautiful weather this weekend than with a neighbourhood breakfast!

This past Sunday at Kingmeadow we got together with all our new home owners for breakfast at the Sales Centre. A delicious breakfast provided by Pelican Catering. Plenty of coffee, tea, fresh fruit, pastries and wraps were there for guests to enjoy. New home owners got to meet their new neighbours and reconnect with the sales staff that helped them pick their Kingmeadow home. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Check out the photos from Sunday’s festivities:

Kingmeadow Trade Appreciation BBQ

IMG_1864

On Friday, October 10th we hosted a barbecue for our Kingmeadow trades. It was a great afternoon to get together with many of the people we work with, and for a great cause no less. We wanted to take advantage of the Thanksgiving spirit and give back to the community we are becoming  a part of. We requested that all of our guests bring a monetary donation or non-perishable food items. All donations were  given to  “Feed the Need in Durham,” a local food bank in Oshawa.
