Long Weekend Winter Activities in Stouffville!

With winter in full swing, now is the perfect time to enjoy all that the season has to offer in Stouffville. The long weekend has arrived and it’s going to be a very cold one! We still managed to find some fun things to do around Stouffville with family or a loved one!


Enjoy A Performance Or Film Screening At The Lebovic Centre For Arts & Entertainment

The revitalized Lebovic Centre for Arts & Entertainment, located at Nineteen on the Park, is a multi-purpose event centre featuring  both professional performances and community-based activities. There are a number of shows scheduled throughout the winter, so take a cozy, warm seat, and be entertained!


Take In An Exhibit At The Latcham Gallery

Named after local philanthropist Arthur Latcham, The Latcham Gallery was created in 1979 by a group of local artists who saw the need for an arts facility in Whitchurch- Stouffville. Since then, it has encouraged several local artists and art devotee’s to continue their work. There are monthly shows and exhibitions to be appreciated by all Stouffville community members.


Shop And Dine In Stouffville’s Historic Downtown Area

Stouffville’s Main Street is beautiful during the summertime but the crisp trees hovering over the village shops and savory eateries, make strolling along the chilled lanes a scenic and pleasant outing in the winter as well. Stouffville’s Main Street is surrounded with historic architecture. You will be sure to get a taste of its rich history and a unique blend of it’s quaint atmosphere and growing urban flare. Search for that something unique in the picturesque gift shops or galleries, or feed your wintery hunger at one of the many restaurants or coffee shops.

Learn Local History At The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum And Community Centre

Are you a history buff and love learning about the culture geography and community that you are now a part of? Then come down to the Whitchurch- Stouffville Museum to take a stroll through your community’s history! Located in the historic hamlet of Vandorf adjacent to the Holland River and scenic Vandorf Park, the Museum was established in 1971 and the site now covers about 2 acres and includes 5 historic structures. A great activity to do with friends, family, or on your own if you’re truly interest in learning fun facts about the wonderful town you live in!



Hortons Home Farm

Great news! Horton’s farm isn’t only open during the summer; it also has a number of winter activities suited for the whole family!  Friendly tour guides will have you happily trekking the cold but exciting trail that wraps around the sugar bush. Visitors enjoy the laid-back atmosphere without any line-ups and can ample fresh syrup and warm apple cider. In addition to a charming trail and warm drinks, the farm lets children climb up the 450-year-old maple tree that is also known as the “Monkey Tree” . If you are one of those early risers and make you way over for breakfast, waiters dressed in pioneer outfits serve up some delicious pancakes!  If you have not yet had a chance to visit Hortons Home Farm, be sure to make your way over shortly for a great outdoor escapade for the whole family to enjoy!

Dagmar Resort is a 25 minute drive away from Stouffville, and a more deluxe ski resort than skiers might be used to finding in Ontario.
