We are excited to announce that Minto got a hat trick at the DRHBA Awards last night, winning all 3 of the Outstanding Achievement Awards! Each year, the Durham Region Home Builders Association (DRHBA) holds the Awards of Excellence Gala to celebrate and honour creative achievement in architectural design, outstanding construction and customer service.

The Last Minto 30Roe Update of 2014!

We have had such a great year at Minto30Roe! Big things happened at our Yonge and Eglinton high-rise condo project during 2014 and for our final update of the year we wanted to touch base with Alexander D’Orazio, project coordinator, to ask him some questions about construction on site.

Minto: How is Minto30Roe progressing? What is the team working on now?

Alexander: Minto30Roe is progressing well. The team will continue to pour the floors of the podium (floors 2 to 7) and transition into the tower portion of the building this winter. The window installation for the podium will start in the early new year as well, which is critical to commence all finishing work for the suites.

M: What’s different about working on Minto30Roe than on other Minto projects?

A: All projects are unique and different in their own way, and they each presents different challenges to the construction team. Due to Minto30Roe’s location and downtown-like atmosphere, the team must plan thoroughly so all deliveries and work can be conducted efficiently and with very little disturbance to our neighbours.

M: What do you like best about the Minto30Roe project?

A: Besides the fantastic location at Yonge & Eglinton, I really love the architecture of the building and its unique shape that will add to its curb appeal. The building includes fancy architectural features, awesome outdoor amenity areas, and cool cladding of composite metal panels and window walls.

M: Now that winter’s upon us, do you have any tricks for dealing with the cold weather while on site?

A: The winter is always tricky during construction. The team must be prepared by providing heat and tarps throughout the building so that concrete will cure properly and the building will not be impacted by the cold weather. As for keeping yourself warm, there are some interesting gadgets out there. Some of the guys on site wear heated jackets that are powered by a rechargeable battery pack – they’re pretty cool and definitely help keep you warm. Everyone has their own winter weather-wear tricks to get through the really cold days.

We love catching up with the Minto30Roe team and learning about how the building is progressing. Are you interested in learning more about Minto30Roe? We still have some amazing 2 bedrooms suites available. Our Sales Centre is closing soon but for a limited time you can come check out our model suite at 2345 Yonge Street or give us a call at 416.915.3812.

Your First Look at Westside’s Exterior

There’s nowhere in Toronto quite like Minto Westside’s cosmopolitan, design-forward and connected way of living. No doubt it’s because Minto Westside represents everything that’s great about life in the heart of the city.

Naturally when it came time for us to design the building with the renowned Wallman Architects, the prerequisite was to create something that would be as bold and vibrant as its neighbourhood. Enter your first look at our exterior rendering!

Our 18 and 20-storey buildings will redefine Bathurst and Front by paying homage to our neighbourhood’s history as Toronto’s original warehouse district. Wallman Architects have reinterpreted the architectural style of the area’s heritage buildings by playfully reimagining the characteristically large windows.

You’ll see the dramatic presence of Minto Westside as you walk by the intersection and look up to the structure of angled columns and brightly colours walls. The two wings of the building are arranged around the central W Courtyard sheltering the private outdoor amenity space. It’s a design that was inspired by our love for European residential buildings and their enclosed outdoor spaces to provide residents with a retreat from the activity of the city.  From the privacy of their recessed balcony, residents will look out into the private courtyard or admire the stunning Toronto skyline.
