We can’t believe the amazing things that are going on at Yonge and Sheppard! It’s been a big week at 88 and the construction progress is incredible –check out what’s been happening! We will begin dry walling the 3rd floor tomorrow. The first roof slab on the mechanical penthouse floor is getting concrete, which only leaves the mechanical penthouse roof left.
Framing for the suites is complete up to the 4th floor and we’ll be starting on the 5th floor next. The windows are also being installed as high as the 20th floor.
Minto is in the process of mocking-up suites as a measure of quality control. In a few suites on the lower floors we install the kitchen, tile, flooring, interior doors and washroom fixtures much earlier in the construction process then we do for the rest of the building. We do this for a few reasons; one is to ensure the trades are familiar with the installation process for these types of finishes and another is to work out any kinks or changes that we want to address early on. These suites are finished first before any other suites in the building are started on. The team on site is currently painting the mock-up suites on the second floor, and the doors and trims, kitchens, and tiles are scheduled for installation next week.
Finally, now that the majority of exterior construction is complete, the big crane that has shadowed over the 88 site for the past year has been scheduled to come down in early 2015!
Construction is progressing quickly at 88 , and the opportunity to live in this gorgeous building is still available! If you’re interested, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call at 416.915.3805 to book your appointment with a sales representative today.
